Though they hold a defensive position, an army officer orders his men to keep up the attack. "Load faster!" he yells. "Keep the fire hot, boys!" All officers carried a sabre at their side, more for show than anything else. Of course, with the enemy less than a hundred yards away, many battles did come down to hand to hand combat.
