Here's a page from Chapter Five, and a sneak peek inside one author's creative process. Not so pretty! Tom's approach is old-school, using a pen instead of a keyboard for original composition. From there, he types in the story and takes a pen to the printout (below), typing it in again and repeating the cycle until he gets it right. This page is from the second draft of Vesuvius.
